The Harrisburg Senators were shutout by the Erie SeaWolves 8-0 Saturday night at UPMC Park in Erie spoiling DJ Herz Nationals debut. Herz started the game and retired the first seven batters before running into trouble and allowing four earned runs. Erie scored five in the third and tacked on three more in the fourth to break the game open. Harrisburg had just three base runners reach scoring position.

The Big Play

With Erie leading 2-0 in the third inning, Donny Sands hit a three-run home run to break the game open and give Erie a 5-0 lead.

On Capitol Hill

DJ Herz made his Nationals' organization debut and went 2.1 innings, allowing five runs on three hits... He retired the first seven batters before Erie plated five runs... Patrick Ruotolo went 1.2 innings and allowed three runs on three hits... Tyler Schoff pitched a scoreless inning... Lucas Knowles went three scoreless innings allowing just two hits.

With the Gavel

The Senators managed just four hits in the game and no extra base hits... Jacob Young, Frankie Tostado, Terone Harris III and JT Arruda had the only hits in the game for Harrisburg.

Filibusters

Harrisburg had just three at bats with runners in scoring position... The time of the game was 2:15... The attendance was 4,690.
