Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Crosscutters collected a season-high seven doubles in their 11-3 win over the Spikes last night in State College.
Four different Cutters had multi-hit performances (Etzel, O'Reilly, Flood and Urdaneta) as they finished with 13 hits overall. Austin Marozas got the start, tossing three scoreless frames, striking out two and giving up a pair of hits. Seven pitchers were used for the second-straight night and Luke Allain was credited with the win, his first of the season.
Getting Extra- The Crosscutters have found their extra-base swing through the first two games of the season, collecting two doubles and a triple in their Opening Night win. Last night in State College the Cutters picked up seven more extra base hits, all doubles. Of the Cutters 19 hits this season, 10 have gone for extra bases.
Flooding the Stat Sheet- Logan Flood has gotten off to a great start to the season at the plate, having already recorded three doubles through the first two game of the season. Flood is hitting .500 with a 1.625 OPS. Flood collected 11 doubles and 3 home runs in 198 at bats for Warner University this past season on his way to a .343 batting average.
O-O-O-O'Reilly- Jack O'Reilly made a solid impression in his Crosscutters debut last night, finishing 2-5 with a pair of doubles, driving in two and scoring a run of his own. The PA native is coming off a season in which he hit .265 with 2 home runs, 9 doubles and drove in 36 runs at Villanova.
Bronco On The Bump- Getting the start and making his Crosscutters debut is right-hander Easton Sikorski. The six-foot 200-pound hurler missed some time this season at Western Michigan, but finished the season strong, throwing 7 innings, striking out a season- high four batters and allowing just one run on two hits against Ohio University. He finished the season 2-1 with a 5.16 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP in 22,2IP over 7 outings that included 5 starts.
