Modesto Nuts News Release
The records are reset and the second half is underway this week as the Nuts start 2-3 in the first half. Nuts fans saw the progression and promotion of multiple top prospects. With four announced all-stars only two made it to Lake Elsinore. Lefty Sam Howard dominated in the rotation, leading the league in strikeouts before an early June promotion to AA. Jerry Vasto allowed just four earned runs as the Nuts' closer earning his second straight all-star game nod. With Vasto and Howard called up, it was Ryan Castellani and Omar Carrizales that represented the Nuts in the California League vs. Carolina League All-Star Game.
The Nuts look to reset and focus on the second half as they continue their seven-game homestand. They will play the Stockton Ports through Thursday and will host the Bakersfield Blaze on July 1 to July 3. THREE fireworks shows for 4th of July weekend!
Celebrate Independence Day with the Modesto Nuts and join us for not one, not two, but THREE fireworks shows this weekend.
-Friday night is First Responders Night where we will be honoring the men and women who put their lives on the line day in and day out to ensure that we are safe in our cities and communities.
-Saturday is Military Appreciation Night where the Modesto Nuts will honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. There will be special Stars and Stripes caps that will be worn by the Modesto Nuts players and coaching staff that will be available for purchase at the Merchandise Shop.
Finally, Sunday July 3 we will celebrate Independence Day with the only fireworks show in Modesto. Don't miss out on this spectacular show and arguably our most popular game of the year! First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. as the Nuts face the Bakersfield Blaze.
