SeaWolves Walk Off on Harrisburg

Erie SeaWolves News Release
After falling behind to the Harrisburg Senators three times, the Erie SeaWolves walked off a winner 7-6 thanks to clutch hits up and down the lineup.
Victor Larez, who had not allowed more than three runs in a start all season, was hit for five earned early in the ballgame. In the third, Rick Hague and Jerad Head each belted solo homeruns to put Harrisburg up 2-0.
Erie responded in the bottom half of the frame, with a Jamie Johnson single bringing home Luis Castillo, who's leadoff double extended his hitting streak to five games. Johnson and Marcus Lemon would both score on a Tyler Collins single with the former scoring when catcher Sandy Leon dropped the ball attempting to apply the tag.
Erie's lead didn't last long as Larez surrendered a three run homerun to Sean Nicol in the top of the fourth. After allowing the homer, Larez settled in to retire nine straight, with he and Ryan Robowski combining to set down 12 straight Senators.
Erie would chip away at the two run deficit in the fourth and fifth innings with homeruns of their own. In the fourth, Wade Gaynor launched his sixth homer to make it a one run game. In the top of the fifth, Hernan Perez's solo homer tied the game at five.
In the ninth, Robowski remained in to face the bottom half of the Senators lineup. After putting runners at second and third with one out, Justin Souza entered in relief. A sacrifice fly by Nicol gave Harrisburg the late lead at 6-5.
The top of the Erie order set the stage for the walk off against Senators closer Aaron Barrett. Johnson led off with a walk and Eguenio Suarez singled to put runners at first and third. After two fly outs, James McCann stepped up with two out. McCann's single into left field scored Johnson to tie the game. Head, seeing Suarez's turn around second, fired the ball in only to have it fly past both the second and first basemen. Suarez was able to score when Bloxom's rally to the plate was not in time, capping the SeaWolves victory.
Harrisburg starter Nate Karns struck out nine while allowing five earned runs. Barrett took the loss while Souza picked up his third win of the season.
