
SeaWolves Squashed by Baysox 10-2

Erie SeaWolves News Release
The SeaWolves dropped the third game of a four-game series against the Bowie Baysox on Sunday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium 10-2.
Bowie jumped ahead on SeaWolves starter Trevor Feeny in the bottom of the third. Ronnie Welty doubled with one out and scored on a Pedro Florimon triple for a 1-0 lead.
In the fourth, Joe Mahoney and Caleb Joseph each singled with one out and Buck Bitton followed with a base hit scoring Mahoney for a 2-0 lead.
The Baysox continued to plate runs in the fifth. Xavier Avery led off with a single, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch. Avery scored on a Florimon single making it 3-0. Chris Davis followed with a walk and L.J. Hoes walked to load the bases. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Mahoney made it a 4-0 game.
In the seventh, Bowie added a pair of runs on SeaWolves reliever Rob Waite. Florimon walked and Davis doubled putting runners in scoring position. Hoes singled home Florimon and Mahoney doubled home Davis for a 6-0 Baysox edge.
The SeaWolves got on the board in the top of the eighth. Michael Rockett led off with a singled and Shawn Roof was hit by a pitch putting a pair of baserunners on against reliever Pat Egan.With one out, Brandon Douglas singled home Rockett, cutting the Baysox lead down to five.
Bowie would put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth against L.J. Gagnier. Ronnie Welty led off and homered to straight away center making it 7-1. Avery followed with a single and he came home on a Florimon home run for a 9-1 Bowie edge. Davis was hit by a pitch and Hoes doubled putting runners on second and third. Mahoney followed with his second sacrifice fly of the day making it 10-1 Baysox.
Erie would get one more back in the ninth against reliever Raul Rivero. With two outs, John Murrian crushed a solo home run to left. His fifth long ball made it a 10-2 game and the 'Wolves would get no closer.
Feeney (0-1) took the loss allowing four runs on eighth hits with a walk and a strikeout in four innings.
The SeaWolves wrap up the 2011 season on Monday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium...2:05 First Pitch. Lefty Jay Voss (9-6, 3.67 ERA) looks to become Erie's first 10-game winner against RHP Tim Bascom (8-4, 3.21 ERA).
