The SeaWolves losing skid hit 12 games with a 7-4 loss to the Altoona Curve on Sunday afternoon at People's Natural Gas Field.

Altoona struck first in the bottom of the first inning against Erie starter Josh Turley. Keon Broxton led off with a walk and moved into scoring position on a Max Moroff base hit. Broxton scored on a Josh Bell knock for 1-0 lead.

In the second, Altoona extended the lead. Andy Vasquez reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a one-out Broxton double for a 2-0 lead.

Erie got on the board in the fifth against Curve starter Jason Creasy. Josh Prince led off with a double and was tripled home by Jeff McVaney making it 2-1.

The game remained 2-1 until the bottom of the seventh. Joe Rogers was in relief of Turley. Gift Ngoepe led off and was hit by a pitch, Broxton walked and Moroff reached on an error loading the bases. A Bell sacrifice fly made it a 3-1 game as Ngoepe scored. Willy Garcia followed with a two-run double making it 5-1. Following an Eric Wood single, Dan Gamache singled home Garcia making it 6-1.

Erie climbed back in the game in the seventh eighth against Curve reliever Tom Harlan. Austin Green and Connor Harrell started the inning with back-to-back singles. With one out, Wynton Bernard singled, extending his hitting streak to 11-straight games and loading the bases. McVaney singled home Green making it 6-2. Corey Jones lifted a fly ball to center, scoring Harrell making it 6-3. Erie's final run came on a Dean Green opposite-field knock, cutting the lead down to a pair at 6-4.

Altoona plated a run in the last of the eighth and held Erie off the bases in the ninth.

Turley (2-2) was the tough luck loser again today, surrendering two runs on seven hits with two walks and season-high seven strikeouts in six innings of work.
