ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... Tonight, the SeaWolves continue their longest road trip of the season (11 days, three cities, nine games) as they take on the Connecticut Defenders (San Francisco Giants) in the middle game of a three-game series at Dodd Stadium. Last night, the ‘Wolves dropped their third straight and second straight in extra innings. The SeaWolves have started the road trip 1-3. The SeaWolves out-hit the Defenders in the series opener 17-9 but went just 3-for-19 with runners in scoring position. In the four games on the trip, the ‘Wolves are just 5-for-47 with runners in scoring position...Despite losing six of their last eight games, the Southern Division standings have remain unchanged as the ‘Wolves are 10 games behind first place Akron, a game behind Wild Card leading Reading and 1.5 games ahead of fourth place Bowie...Since July 8, the SeaWolves are 3-11 away from Jerry Uht Park and have the worst road record in the league (21-34). Erie has also dropped seven of its last eight road contests...The SeaWolves are 21-14 against Northern Division opponents this season. Erie is in a stretch of 15 consecutive games wrapping up the Northern Division portion of their schedule...Erie has dropped three of the first four games of the season series with Connecticut and need wins in the final two games to avoid a season series loss. Erie has not lost a season series to a team from EL North this season. The ‘Wolves are 8-2-1 in series against the North...Erie's 17-hit performance last night tied for the second-most hits in a game this season by the ‘Wolves...Only 39 home runs have been hit at Dodd Stadium this season, the fewest hit in an Eastern League stadium in 2009.
