A pitchers duel went in favor of the Harrisburg Senators on Sunday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park. The SeaWolves and Senators combined for only nine hits, in a 3-1 Harrisburg victory.

Erie starter Patrick Cooper pitched a gem, making only one mistake - a one-out, fifth inning homerun by Harrisburg shortstop Jose Lozada, his third. Cooper had his longest outing of the year, going seven innings and giving up the two runs on five hits and one walk, with two strikeouts.

Senators starter, and former Detroit Tiger, Ryan Perry threw five scoreless innings, giving up only two hits and two walks, while striking out three SeaWolves. In the ninth, Harrisburg got an insurance run off of Erie reliever David Kopp, when Justin Bloxom hit his fourth homerun of the year, and second in as many games. The solo homer gave the Senators a 3-0 lead.

Harrisburg turned to reliever Zech Zinicola in the bottom of the ninth. SeaWolves first baseman Rawley Bishop hit his eighth homerun of the year to end Harrisburg's shut out bid, but Zinicola got the next batter, Tony Plagman, to ground out to end the game.

The win is the eighth straight for Harrisburg, and it improves their record to 48-40. The loss drops Erie to three games below .500, at 42-45.

The series wraps up Monday night, the final game before the All-Star break, with Erie's Cesar Carrillo (0-1, 9.45 ERA) taking on Harrisburg lefty Danny Rosenbaum (7-5, 3.41 ERA).
