SeaWolves Down Senators 9-5

The Harrisburg Senators fell behind early and couldn't quite catch the Erie SeaWolves and fell 9-5 Wednesday at FNB Field. The Senators loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, but the game ended on a groundout. Erie had leads of 5-0 and 8-2 before the Sens rallied to make the game 8-5 going to the ninth inning.

The Big Plays

With the bases loaded in the top of the second inning and no outs, Alex Troop moved ahead of Chris Meyers 1-2 before Meyers doubled against the left field fence to give Erie a 2-0 lead. They went on to score five runs in the inning.

On Capitol Hill

Alex Troop started and lasted just 1.2 innings allowing five runs on five hits... Tyler Beck followed and allowed three runs on three hits in three innings of work... Reid Schaller pitched 2.1 scoreless frames... Joel Peguero pitched a scoreless eighth inning... Jack Sinclair allowed a run on two hits in the ninth inning.

With the Gavel

Trey Lipscomb homered for a second straight game, a two-run shot in the second inning... Onix Vega had two hits and drove in a run... James Wood had a two-run single in the eighth inning.

Filibusters

Harrisburg managed just five hits and now have just nine in the first two games of the series... The teams combined to walk 14 times with eight of the walks scoring... The Senators turned three double plays in the game and have now turned 53 this season.

On the Docket

The Senators and Erie SeaWolves play game three of their six-game series Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:15 p.m.
