Seattle Supports Sounders FC Ahead of Historic Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League FInal Match this Wednesday

SEATTLE, WASH. - As Seattle Sounders FC prepares to take on Liga MX side Pumas UNAM in a winner-take-all second leg of the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final, being played at Lumen Field on Wednesday, May 4 (7:00 p.m. PT / FS1, TUDN, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM), the Puget Sound region's overwhelming support for the Rave Green is visible in a variety of ways.

Seattle Sounders FC announced on Friday that more than 61,000 tickets have been sold for Wednesday's match. With this announcement, the club is set to break the standalone attendance record for a Concacaf Champions League Final match, surpassing the 61,004 fans that watched Montreal take on Club América at the Olympic Stadium in 2015. Limited inventory in the Lumen Field upper bowl remains, and fans wishing to attend are urged to act quickly to secure their tickets for this historic day. Tickets are available exclusively online via SoundersFC.com/Tickets.

As fans cheer on the club, they can look for the following special activations around town.

COMMUNITY ACTIVATIONS

The Space Needle is flying a giant Sounders FC flag on Wednesday, May 4. The flag is being hoisted Wednesday morning by Sounders FC Owner Drew Carey and former Sounder and current team Brand Ambassador Brad Evans. Media wishing to cover the flag raising must RSVP; a separate media advisory with pertinent details is forthcoming.

The Pacific Science Center is dressing its courtyard dinosaurs in Sounders FC scarves from Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4. In addition, the giant PacSci arches are also lighting Rave Green in support on these nights.

Pike Place Market - one of Seattle's most iconic and well-trafficked locations - proudly displays its support for Sounders FC as it flies a series of Sounders FC flags along its marquee roofline at First and Pike on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4. The famous Pike Place Market fishmongers are also supporting their local club by donning Sounders FC gear and decorating their Market stall. Additionally, Market mascots Rachel the Piggy Bank and Billie the Piggy Bank join in the fun as the beloved bronze sculptures don their Sounders FC scarves on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4. Sounders fans are encouraged to do their part to secure the Concacaf Champions League trophy for the Rave Green by stopping in to take advantage of the area legend that promises good luck to those who rub Rachel's snout and make a wish with their donation. All donations to the Market Piggy Banks support services in Pike Place Market, so fans can give to a good cause while bringing luck to Sounders FC.

The Fremont Troll - a mixed media public sculpture designed by artists Steve Badanes, Will Martin, Donna Walter and Ross Whitehead - shows his Sounders spirit as he dons a Troll-sized scarf from Tuesday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 4. Fans are encouraged to stop by Troll's Knoll Park for this one-of-a-kind Seattle photo op.

All Washington State Ferries sailing into and out of Colman Dock on Bainbridge and Bremerton routes are flying Sounders FC flags on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4.

Starbucks is flying a specially crafted giant Sounders FC flag from the top of its corporate headquarters in SoDo on Wednesday, May 4.

Seattle Aquarium displays a Sounders FC flag within its Window on Washington Waters display. This 120,000-gallon exhibit features a 20x40 foot viewing window into the sea life of Washington's outer coast, and on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4, the Sounders FC flag will spread team spirit even under the water.

LIGHTING ACTIVATIONS

The Russell Investments Center, through building owner CommonWealth Partners, is set to light up the city's waterfront. The building's crown lighting will glow Rave Green from Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4, and the building will feature a special Sounders FC-themed lighting on the night of the match. On Wednesday, May 4, in addition to the crown lighting, the RIC is displaying its special "Born In '74" lighting in tribute to year the Sounders were founded, complete with an 18-story "74" shining brightly in the windows along its west façade. The display should be fully visible roughly 40 minutes after sunset.

T-Mobile is going green for Sounders FC from Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4. Known for its distinctive magenta lighting that illuminates the company headquarters in Factoria, T-Mobile shows its support for the Sounders by trading magenta for Rave Green ahead of Wednesday's big game.

The Seattle Mariners support their neighbors by changing T-Mobile Park's magenta lighting to Rave Green on Wednesday, May 4. In addition, the statues of Mariners legends Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez, located outside the ballpark near First Avenue and Edgar Martinez Drive, will be dressed in Sounders FC jerseys.

Seattle's iconic MoPOP - the Museum of Pop Culture - is glowing green for Sounders FC on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4.

The Westin Seattle lights its distinctive towers Rave Green on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4.

The Washington State Convention Center provides a Rave Green glow downtown on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4.

The Allen Institute, founded by late Sounders FC Owner and Seattle visionary Paul Allen, lights green from Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4.

The 520 Bridge is lighting its sentinels green for the club on Wednesday, May 4.

Lumen Field and its recognizable arches are scheduled to light Rave Green on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4.

The Columbia Center and its crown lighting also go green high above Seattle on Tuesday, May 3.

Having claimed victories over Honduran club F.C. Motagua, Mexican side Club León and fellow MLS side New York City FC on its path to the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final, Sounders FC now takes on Pumas UNAM of Liga MX in a battle for the continental title. Coming off a 2-2 draw in the Final's first leg of action in Mexico City, the two teams now face off in a winner-take-all battle at Lumen Field. This marks the first time that the Rave Green have reached the SCCL Final, and only the fifth time in history for an MLS club. A Sounders FC victory would be history not only for the franchise, but for Major League Soccer as a whole.
