Seattle Storm to host Kids Day celebration

SEATTLE -The Seattle Storm will welcome thousands of area youth to KeyArena on Wednesday, July 13 when the Storm take on the Washington Mystics at 12:00 p.m. This special Kids Day event, sponsored by Dairy Farmers of Washington, will include numerous activities and giveaways geared towards children.

The day's festivities will kick off on KeyArena's West Plaza at 10:30 a.m., with face painters, balloon artists, carnival games and a 16-foot refrigerated truck handing out free food samples, courtesy of Dairy Farmers of Washington. The Storm will also be handing out a limited supply of children's books, and team mascot Doppler will be on hand to sign autographs. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Lauren Jackson poster, presented by Dairy Farmers of Washington.

During the game, fans will have the opportunity to help Doppler celebrate his birthday. Many of Doppler's mascot friends from around the league will also be on hand for the celebration, to be highlighted by a game of mascot dodgeball at halftime.

Tickets for Wednesday game are still available and can be purchased through TicketMaster, by logging on to storm.wnba.com, or by calling 1-877-WNBA-TIX. Storm tickets are also available at the Sonics & Storm Team Shop, located at 312 First Ave. on KeyArena's West Plaza.

The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises - the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
