SEATTLE – As part of a league-wide tour, the Seattle Storm will host the first stop in "The WNBA Salutes the Women of the U.S. Olympic Teams" when the team plays the defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock at KeyArena tomorrow at 7 p.m.

The WNBA and the United States Olympic Committee have teamed up to salute past and present female U.S. Olympians throughout the month of September at six different WNBA venues. "The WNBA Salutes the Women of the U.S. Olympic Teams Tour" is made possible by the generous support of sponsors Allstate, Bud Light, Dasani and McDonald's. The tour will also visit Phoenix, Washington, Houston, Los Angeles and Detroit over the next 11 days.

Former gold-medal winning swimmer and NBA Inside Stuff co-host Summer Sanders will serve as emcee of a special halftime show at tomorrow's Seattle-Detroit game that will spotlight current and alumni medal-winning Olympians including Michelle French (soccer; 1984), Mary Wayte (swimming; 1984 and 1988), Aly Wagner (soccer; 2004), Megan Quann (swimming; 2000), Amy Tryon (equestrian; 2004), Heather Petri (water polo; 2004) and Ericka Petri (water polo; 2004).

The Storm game against the Shock also features four recent Olympians – U.S. gold-medal winner Sue Bird and Australian silver-medal winner Lauren Jackson with the Storm and U.S. gold-medal winners in forward Swin Cash and center Ruth Riley with the Shock.

After missing the last three games on the injured list, Jackson hopes to return to the Storm's starting lineup tomorrow night to help the team snap a three-game losing streak and fight for playoff positioning.

Tickets for the Storm game on Wednesday and the other two remaining home games – Sept. 15 vs. Phoenix and Sept. 18 vs. Los Angeles – can be purchased by logging on to storm.wnba.com, by calling 1-877-WNBA-TIX or by visiting any Ticketmaster location including the Sonics & Storm Team Shop at 312 First Ave. N.

The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises – the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
