Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON, TX (Friday, June 26, 2009) -- The Houston Dynamo will offer season-ticket and mini-plan holders an exclusive chance to buy extra tickets for the Dynamo's anticipated August 9 game against the Chicago Fire, it was announced today.
Beginning on Wednesday, July 1, and running through Sunday, July 5, season ticket holders and mini-plan holders will enjoy an exclusive window to purchase additional seats for the game. By calling their customer service representatives or logging into their online account managers, season ticket holders may buy up to 10 seats per season ticket, and mini-plan holders may purchase up to 10 seats per account. Individual tickets for the game are not yet on sale.
"We are excited for Houston soccer fans to have the opportunity to see so many former and future World Cup stars on the field at Robertson Stadium on August 9 when we play the Chicago Fire," said Steve Powell, Dynamo Senior Vice President for Business Development. "Demand for tickets has been high, so we are implementing a plan that allows our most loyal fans the first opportunity to buy tickets for this important game."
Last year, more than 22,000 fans attended the Dynamo's 2-1 win over Chicago at Robertson Stadium. The Dynamo have beaten the Fire in four consecutive games, the last three by a one-goal margin. Chicago, which currently has the best winning percentage in the Eastern Conference, boasts legendary Mexico midfielder Cuauhtémoc Blanco and former United States international forward Brian McBride.
The Dynamo are next in action on Sunday, June 28, at 9 p.m. CT when they face the Los Angeles Galaxy in a game televised nationally on ESPN2, their first of at least five consecutive road games.
The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer franchise that has won two MLS Cup championships in its first three seasons and qualified to represent the United States in four consecutive regional championships. Currently on an 11-game unbeaten streak, the Dynamo will next play at home on Saturday, July 25, against the New England Revolution.
