The Sea Dogs took an early lead with Nathan Beaulieu scoring his first of the season at 1:41. The Wildcats were able to tie the game with fifty seconds left in the first period with Daniel Pettersson converting on a wrap around.

The Wildcats controlled the play early on in the second period but couldn't capitalize on their chances. Hirvik gave the Cats hope 35 seconds into the third period when he tipped Simon Jodoin's shot from the point. However, any hope of a comeback quickly vanished as Jurco scored his second of the night 1:11 into the period. Despres added a shorthanded goal at 6:08 to round of the scoring. Shots in the 3rd were 8-7 for Saint John as they held a 33-23 shot advantage for the game. Saint John was 1 for 5 on the powerplay, Moncton were scoreless on four opportunities.
