NEWS AND NOTES

SEEKING THE SERIES WIN ON SATURDAY: The Portland Sea Dogs are 2-2 on their six-game homestand, which continues on Saturday night against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate)...With a win tonight, Portland will secure the series win over the Baysox, and take their second series from a Western Division opponent (Altoona on May 24-27)...Lefty Darwinzon Hernandez makes just his third start at Hadlock Field, picking up his lone win in Maine on April 7 vs. Reading.

DR. LONGBALL ON FRIDAY: Tate Matheny, Jhon Nunez, and Luke Tendler each homered in Portland's 10-3 win in the series opener...The 'Dogs scored six times in the fifth inning and gave Hunter Harvey (2-5) the loss and Dylan Thompson made his Double-A debut for Portland and earned the win, tossing six innings on three runs and eight hits...Hunter Smith also made his debut and notched the save with three scoreless frames.
