LAST GAME

The Senators fell behind early to Reading Friday night and couldn't complete a big rally in a 9-4 loss. Reading took a 6-0 lead into the sixth inning before the Sens scored to make the score 6-1. Trailing 8-1 in the seventh inning, the Sens plated three runs and had the bases loaded but couldn't get the big hit they needed.

CAPITAL BEAT

The Senators and Reading Fightin Phils play game two of a three-game weekend series tonight at First Energy Stadium. The Sens lead the season series 6-5 including taking two of three from Reading in Reading in May. The teams meet next weekend in a three-game series in Harrisburg, their final meeting of the 2019 season.

Reading has taken four of the past five games played between the two teams.

The Senators are 3-11 since May 1st on the road. They haven't won a road series since sweeping three from Altoona in mid-April.

RH Steven Fuentes makes the start for the Senators. He's 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA in six outings, two starts with Harrisburg. He was transferred to Harrisburg from Potomac on May 8th. With Potomac this season he was 1-1, 0.53 in eight games, all relief appearances.

They're 33-24 and in third place in the Eastern Division, trailing Hartford by 1.0 game.

Reading is 5-5 in their past 10 games and 16-12 at home.

LH JoJo Romero makes the start for Reading tonight. The 22-year-old from Oxnard, CA is 0-2 with a 6.89 ERA in three games with Reading. He also made seven starts for Lehigh Valley and went 2-2, 9.64 ERA. He started at FNB Field 5/27, taking the loss, and went 6.2-6-4-4-0-5 94-66. He was the Phillies 4th round choice in 2016.

The Sens have used 40 players this season. They've averaged using 55 players per season for the past 10 seasons. The roster has evolved from having 11 Double-A rookies to start the season to now there are 8 on the active roster. There are 18 players that have played in the Nats organization their entire career and 5 players with big league experience. Of the 25 active players, 20 were in the Nats organization last year.
