Kieboom Homers in 6-1 Sens Win

The Senators (38-23) scored early on a second inning two-run home run by Spencer Kieboom and never trailed in the game as they defeat Reading (33-25) 6-1 Saturday night at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading. The Senators first five hitters of the sixth inning would all reach including three consecutive RBI singles. They would eventually score four runs on five hits in the inning to push their lead to 6-0. Reading finished the game 0-for-6 with RISP for the game.

Turning Point

Trailing 2-0, Reading put two on, including the tying run at first base, with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. Senators starting pitcher, Steven Fuentes, induced Cornelius Randolph to bounce into a 6-4-3 inning ending double play to end the Fightin Phils threat.

On Capitol Hill

- Steven Fuentes started and earned the win (3-0) while allowing one run on four hits over six innings. The right-hander walked a pair and struck out seven in the outing.

- Justin Miller, on a rehab assignment from the Washington Nationals, pitched a perfect seventh inning including one strike out. He threw 10 pitches, nine of which were strikes.

- Jonny Venters and Joan Baez combined to go the final two innings with Venters allowing the lone hit between the two while they combined to strike out three and not allow a run.

With the Gavel

- Luis Garcia had four hits including an RBI single in the sixth inning to lead the Sens.

- Spencer Kieboom hit a two-run home run and had an RBI single.

- Harrisburg had six players with multi-hit games while racking up 15 total hits for the game.

Filibusters

- The Senators are now 21-6 on the season in games where they score first.

- Harrisburg has nine games remaining in the first half and has a 7.0 game lead over Akron.

- The 15 hits ties their season high.

The Senators and Reading Fightin Phils play the final game of their three-game series Sunday at 5:15 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 5:00 p.m.
