MONDAY BASEBALL IN READING:The Sea Dogs and Fightin Phils conclude their four-game series on Monday at FirstEnergy Stadium...Portland is playing their first Monday game since May 25th when they hosted Reading at Hadlock Field...Portland won the opener of this series, but has lost consecutive one-run games and 16 of their last 20 overall...OF Manuel Margot was promoted to Portland earlier today from High-A Salem...Margot is rated the #7 prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America.
JUST FELL SHORT: Portland fell behind 7-0 after four innings and scored seven runs off the Fightins bullpen and suffered an 8-7 loss on Sunday...Art Charles went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI to lead Reading's offense...The Fightins received a hit from all nine starters and scored all seven runs off losing pitcher Mike Augliera (2-11)...Jesse Biddle (7-1) worked five innings on three hits, five walks and four strikeouts to earn the win...Marco Hernandez went 2-for-6 with 2 RBI and Danny Bethea knocked in two runs and finished 2-for-5...Aneury Tavarez had three hits and scored twice.
