NEWS AND NOTES
FINAL MEETING TODAY : The Sea Dogs and Rock Cats meet for the final time this season, concluding a four-game series on Sunday afternoon at New Britain Stadium...Portland has dropped two of the first 3 games, and have not won a road series since Jun 26-29 vs. Reading...RHP Luis Diaz makes his eighth start of the season for Portland, he tossed his second career complete-game against the Rock Cats on July 5th at Hadlock Field (Game 2 of a doubleheader).
FIRING BLANKS : Portland had just five hits in a 7-0 loss to the New Britain Rock Cats on Saturday night...RHP Tyler Duffey (7-2) earned his fourth straight win, tossing seven frames on five hits, no walks and seven strikeouts...New Britain collected eight doubles, including two apiece from Aaron Hicks (2 RBI)and Brandon Waring (3 RBI)...RHP Wilfredo Boscan (1-5) suffered the loss, giving up 10 hits, six runs and fanned seven over 4.2 IP...2B Sean Coyle went 2-for-4 in the loss...Brad Boyer and Matt Koch added RBIs in the win for the Rock Cats...LHP Robby Scott pitched a perfect ninth.
