Senators Suspended in the 12th Inning

The Harrisburg Senators took a lead in the eighth and had the winning run at third in the ninth, but couldn't take down the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and were trailing 9-7 in the bottom of the 12th inning when Sunday's game was suspended. Harrisburg had one out and a man on second base when the game was suspended.
Matt Skole provided the early scoring for the Senators with an RBI double in the first and third innings. Much later, Kevin Keyes began the eighth inning with a solo home run, his 18th for Harrisburg this year to cut New Hampshire's lead to 4-3. Quincy Latimore singled with two outs and Brian Jeroloman followed with a two-run, go-ahead home run. Jeroloman's sixth bomb of the season landed on the boardwalk behind the right-center field fence to put the Senators up, 6-5.
Paolo Espino pitched the first six innings for Harrisburg, allowing three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to New Hampshire. The Senators' righty struck out four, but allowed ten hits. Neil Holland fired two scoreless innings in his return to the Senators and appeared in line for the win. However, Senators' closer Robert Benincasa allowed a solo home run and a go-ahead sacrifice fly to New Hampshire in the top of the ninth.
In the bottom of the ninth, Drew Vettleson started the rally with a one-out single. Skole followed with his third double of the game to chase Vettleson around from first and tie the game at six apiece. Kevin Keyes then lined a single through the left side of the infield, but Skole was thrown out trying to score. The Senators were able to load the bases later in the ninth, but all three runners were stranded to end the inning.
Both teams did not score in the 10th or 11th innings as Harrisburg's Tyler Herron allowed just one hit in the two frames. In the 12th, New Hampshire used a single, double and home run - all with two outs - off Harrisburg's Derek Self to jump ahead by three runs. In the bottom of the 12th, Adrian Sanchez lined an RBI single and moved to second on a wild pitch when the game was stopped.
The Senators will travel to Richmond tomorrow for a 7:05 p.m. start against the Flying Squirrels. Brian Dupra will get the ball for Harrisburg against Richmond's Clayton Blackburn.
