PITCHING WAS KEY: RHP Adam Mills (3‐5) tossed seven strong innings and LHP Dustin Richardson notched his first Double‐A save in Portland's 3‐1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Richardson stranded 4 runners over the final two innings to earn his 1st save since August, 28 2006 (with Lowell). New Hampshire rallied after two outs in the ninth inning on a single by RF Nick Gorneault and a walk by 3B Al Quintana. Richardson fanned pinch‐hitter Luis Sanchez to end the game.
GOING DEEP AGAIN: CF Josh Reddick gave Portland a 1‐0 with his 2nd homer of the trip (8th of the season) off losing pitcher RHP Rey Gonzalez (3‐5) in the third inning...Reddick is tied with 3B Jorge Jimenez and 1B/DH Jon Still for the team‐lead in homers...2B Ryan Khoury added a sac‐fly in the fifth inning and DH Lars Anderson scored on a wild pitch.
