WOULD BE NICE WAY TO START : The Sea Dogs have won three straight, and seek a three-game sweep of the Rock Cats on Sunday afternoon at New Britain Stadium...Portland's last three-game sweep on the road came in New Britain - August 20-22, 2012...The 'Dogs are off to their best start after 8 games, since going 4-4 in 2010...Portland last started the season 5-4 in 2009...New Britain has committed six errors in the series and their pitchers have issued 14 walks.
EXTRA, EXTRA : 1B Travis Shaw nailed a two-out, RBI single in the 10th inning, rallying the Sea Dogs past the Rock Cats 6-5 on Saturday night in 10 innings...Shaw finished 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and a walk...Portland was trailing 5-2, but scored one in the seventh and two in the eighth...Shannon Wilkerson had three hits, including the game-tying triple with two outs in the eighth...Chris Martin fired three scoreless on one hit to earn the win, and Brock Huntzinger pitched the 10th for his 3rd save of the year...Tony Thomas added two run-scoring doubles and Michael Almanzar went 2-for-5.
