Sea Dogs 15 Game Win Streak Snapped with 1-0 Loss

Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs (42-24) had their franchise-record 15 game win streak snapped Thursday night at Hadlock Field with a 1-0 loss to the Harrisburg Senators (25-43).

The game was scoreless entering the ninth inning. Cole Freeman delivered a bases-loaded single down the leftfield line scoring Jackson Cluff for the game's only run.

Frank German got the start for the Sea Dogs and tossed five shutout innings, holding the Senators to four hits. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.

Harrisburg starter Luis Reyes fired seven shutout innings scattering four hits. He walked two and struck out four. Pearson McMahan (4-2) earned the win pitching the final two innings.

It was just the fourth time the Sea Dogs have been shutout this season, the second time by Harrisburg.

The Sea Dogs hit into three double plays and were 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

Portland's best scoring opportunity came in the fourth inning as they had runners on second and third with no outs. Devlin Granberg was tagged out trying to score from third on a wild pitch. Reyes retired the next two batters to get out of the inning.

Victor Santos (1-2) made his Red Sox organizational debut allowing one run on three hits in three innings of work. He struck out two and did not walk a batter. Santos was acquired from the Phillies organization on July 17th completing the January 18 trade for infielder C.J. Chatham.

Pedro Castellanos extended his hit streak to ten games with a single in the first inning.

The Sea Dogs and Senators will play game four of the series Friday night at 6:00 PM. Right-handed pitcher Brayan Bello (0-0, 4.03) will start for Portland. Harrisburg will send lefty Seth Romero (1-1, 2.73) to the mound. Radio coverage on the WPEI Sea Dogs Radio Network, built by General Dynamics/ Bath Iron Works, begins at 5:45 PM.
