LOS ANGELES, CA, 2021 - The Agua Caliente Clippers (5-4) fall to the Santa Cruz Warriors (4-6), 122-121, on Wednesday night.
Jay Scrubb paced the Clippers with 32 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field, his second straight game with 30 or more points. Amir Coffey followed close behind with 23 points and added eight rebounds and seven assists.
Six Clippers scored in double-figures, including all five starters.
For the Warriors, Moses Moody, on assignment from Golden State, exploded for 37 points, knocking down 12-of-28 from the field including five three-pointers in 11 attempts. He added 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.
Jonathan Kuminga added 25 points for Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz took a 12-point advantage into the final frame but Agua Caliente clawed back, getting to within a single point after Jay Scrubb's three-pointer with 3.6 seconds remaining. After the Clippers fouled to extend the game, Jeff Dowtin missed both free throws but, with no timeouts remaining, the Clippers missed a full court heave as time expired.
Agua Caliente looks to bounce back tomorrow, November 9th, and even out the back-to-back against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Tip-off is at 7pm PT inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA.
