
Balanced Attack Leads to Wire-To-Wire Victory for the Squadron

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron took care of business Thursday night, notching their second-straight win in a 115-84 wire-to-wire victory Over Lakeland in Legacy Arena. The Squadron led by as much as 37 in the game, but their final 31-point margin of victory was the fifth-highest in the G League this season. The two teams will face each other again in Legacy Arena Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
Forward Zylan Cheatham was the highlight for the Squadron, posting 16 points and a team-leading 13 rebounds, his fourth double-double this season. Cheatham is now averaging13.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game this season, one of 10 players in the G League averaging a double-double this season. His 10.0 rebounds per game also rank 10th in the league.
Guard Jared Harper led the team in points for the fourth time this season with 19 on the night, but the Squadron shared the wealth offensively, leading to eight different players scoring in double digits, including Harper (19), Joe Young (18), Cheatham (16), James Banks III (14), Riley LaChance (12), Malcolm Hill (11), John Petty Jr. (11) and Ra'Shad James (10).
Former Auburn guard Samir Doughty led Lakeland with 16 points.
The two teams face off again in Legacy Arena on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
