Scrappers win third straight

The Scrappers opened a six game road trip Wednesday night in Lowell, Massachusetts against the Spinners. Scoring fist has been good to the Scrappers this season and the struck first scoring six runs in the top of the second. In the inning the Scrappers collected three singles and one double by Doug Pickens and Juan Valdes added a bases loaded walk. The Spinners also helped the Scrappers cause committing three errors in the inning.

The Spinners scored two in the fourth and two in the fifth of Scrappers Kaimi Mead and led 6-4 after five innings. In the sixth inning Brian Grening entered the game for the Scrappers and worked two scoreless innings while striking out five.

Offensively the spinner relief pitching held the Scrappers off the board for the next six innings, so going to the ninth. In the top of the ninth the Scrappers went down one, two, three. In the bottom of the ninth Wilfredo Ramirez worked his second inning of relief and retired the side with some help defensively from his friends.

With the 6-4 win over the Spinners the Scrappers have now won a season high three straight and are 13-15 on the season.
