Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

FISHKILL, N.Y. (July 16, 2008) - Semisonic put it best in the ironic lyric of their 1998 hit Closing Time: "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." 0A

For Semisonic, and others like them, their beginning and end were the same. Friday night the Hudson Valley Renegades, WRRV and Boston Snack Foods will pay homage to the end of such beginning by hosting baseball's first-ever One Night Stand promotion at Dutchess Stadium.

Fans will be asked to remain on their feet until the end of the fifth inning, when the game has become official. After the game an adult-only sleepover will be held on the field that will feature a midnight buffet and beverages until about 1:30 a.m.

The night's activities will also include a fireworks show.

"We're doing this because it's never been done before," Renegades General Manager Eben Yager said. "We do so much for the kids throughout the season, we wanted to take one night and dedicate it to the adults that make us a viable organization in this community. It will be a blast."

Trivia involving baseball players like Charlie Ahearn and Jim Adams. Ahearn collected one hit in his four Major League at-bats in 1880 while with the Troy Trojans of the National League while Adams did the same in 1890 with the St. Louis Browns of the American Association.

The adult-only sleepover is for those over the age of 21. Those staying over will be asked to deposit their car keys with the team, taking a cab or calling Safe Ride if they wish to leave the stadium early. Bracelets will be required for admission to the overnight party. They may be purchased at the stadium box office anytime during business hours.
