Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MA - The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, announced today that 2007 World Series Champion Kyle Snyder is scheduled to make a rehab appearance with the team Thursday, July 17 at LeLacheur Park.

The Spinners will face the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, a Cleveland Indians affiliate, for a 7:05 first pitch, the second game of a brief three game homestand for the Spinners. Snyder is the scheduled starting pitcher.

Snyder, a key reliever on the 2007 World Series Champion Red Sox team, pitched in 46 games during the 2007 season, finishing with a 2-3 record and a 3.81 ERA. In 2008 Snyder made two appearances in Boston before being sent outright to Pawtucket.

Snyder was previously scheduled to make rehab appearances in Lowell in 2006, shortly after being acquired by the Kansas City Royals, and earlier this month, but in both instances the appearances were scrapped.

Snyder will be the 13th Red Sox to make a rehab appearance with the Spinners and the second this season after outfielder and 2007 World Series Game Four hero Bobby Kielty played two games for the Spinners against the Oneonta Tigers. Kielty finished the series 3-for-8 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.

The Spinners remind fans that although the game is technically sold out, there are always tickets available, whether its groups downsizing, player tickets becoming available one hour before game-time, or $4 standing room tickets. Our ushers make every effort to seat our standing room customers.

Please call the Lowell Spinners ticket office at 978-459-1702 for ticketing information.
