Scrappers succomb to Spikes' rally

STATE COLLEGE, PA Thursday night the Scrappers made their way to State College to take on the Spikes. After a scoreless first inning the Spikes were the first team to crack the scoreboard in the second when Kyle Morgan hit a solo home run to right field making it 1-0 Spikes.

The Scrappers scored their first run in the top of the fourth when after back to back singles, Tim Fedroff grounded out scoring Ryan Blair and the game was tied at 1-1.

The Spikes manufactured the go ahead run on a wild pitch, making the score 2-1 Spikes after five. Then in the seventh the Scrappers loaded the bases on back to back singles and a walk that was then followed by a wild pitch that tied the game up a 2-2 going to the eighth.

Both teams put up zeros in the eighth and ninth and we went to extra innings tied at 2-2.

In the top of the tenth, the Scrappers scored the go ahead run when Fedroff delivered a single to center field that scored Blair, making it 3-2 Scrappers, then in the bottom of the tenth, after a lead off walk Ciro Rosero then doubled to left tying the game at 3-3. Chase d'Arnaud then followed with a single to right that scored rosero and the spikes rallied to took game one 4-3.
