
Scrappers Fall in Season Finale

Mahoning Valley Scrappers News Release
The Scrappers dropped their season finale 8-2 to the Black Bears on Monday afternoon.
Mahoning Valley jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third on a Willi Castro double to score Gabriel Mejia.
The Black Bears responded in the top of the fifth.
Ke'Bryan Hayes singled, and later scored on a single from Erik Forgione. The next batter, Mitchell Tolman, doubled to bring in Casey Hughston and Forgione. Tolman scored on a single for Daniel Arribas.
Jodd Carter hit his third home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh, and the Black Bears added four runs in the top of the eighth against Jose Zapata. Ty Moore scored on a balk, and Hughston hit his second home run of the season, which was a three-run shot to right.
Matt Esparza earned his first loss of the season after going 4.2 innings and giving up five hits and four runs while walking two and striking out five.
The Scrappers finish the 2015 season 31-44, and now turn their attention to the Mahoning Valley Brawlers, the FXFL team coming to Eastwood Field in the fall. For more information about the Brawlers, visit mvbrawlers.com.
