Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon they have agreed to terms with left wing Scott Reynolds for the 2009-10 season.
Reynolds, 28, spent his third professional season with Fassa (Italy) appearing in 42 games, collecting eleven goals and 21 assists for 32 points. Scott was the second-leading scorer on the club and was one of five players to appear in all 42 contests. Fassa turned in an 11-25-6 record during the campaign.
The six-foot-one, 195 pound native of Kerrobert, SK, spent his first two professional seasons with the Cyclones. Reynolds appeared in 139 games with Cincinnati, netting 23 goals and adding 38 assists for 61 points during that stretch. Five of his scores were game winners. Scott's most memorable goal as a Cyclones came in Game Six of the North Division Finals in 2008 (May 3). His score midway through the third period proved to be the game winner and leveled the series at three wins apiece as Cincinnati went on to capture its first-ever Kelly Cup.
"Scott Reynolds is one of the better defensive forwards in the ECHL," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "His ability to kill penalties and steadiness are assets to his style of play."
"I am excited to return to Cincinnati and the atmosphere of U.S. Bank Arena," Scott Reynolds said. "Hopefully we can develop into a championship caliber team as we did a couple of years ago."
The addition of Scott Reynolds brings the number of players on the Cyclones roster to 19. He joins forwards Hans Benson, Jonathan Duchesneau, Kenton Dulle, Barret Ehgoetz, Jimmy Kilpatrick, Adam Krug, Matt Pierce, Brett Robinson, Dustin Sproat and Mark Voakes and defensemen Jamie Coghlan, Doug Krantz, Kirk Medernach, Brian O'Hanley, Kevin Roeder, Brock Sheahan, Jason Woll and Dwayne Zinger.
Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones open the season at Elmira on Friday, October 16 and after three road games, host their home opener at U.S. Bank Arena against Wheeling on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. There will be a special divisional championship banner raising ceremony prior to that game.
