
Condors to house the homeless through Habitat for Humanity

This Week In Condorstown:
Friday, Sept. 25:
Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd, along with front office staff members will help put a roof over the head of some of Kern's less fortunate by working on the Habitat for Humanity house at the Kern County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Colonel will also visit the school groups at the fairgrounds during the morning. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that builds homes for the homeless. The Condors will also be filming a commercial at Habitat for Humanity that can be seen during the upcoming season.

Wednesday, Sept. 30:
Condors mascot Baby Cal will visit the children's group at Ridgeview Community Church from 6 - 7 p.m. at 8420 Stine Road. Baby Cal will join in the children's games, sign autographs and pose for photos with the young Condors fans.
Condors players (TBD) will be present at the California Brain Injury Association's night at the Tilted Kilt at 2900 Calloway Drive. Tickets for the event can be purchased at Calbia for $50 which includes the evening's meal and entertainment. The Condors players will be signing autographs, greeting patrons and assisting with the auction, which includes Condors tickets. The event runs from 6 - 10 p.m. and the Condors players will be at the event starting at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 3:
The Condors Open House, the first chance for fans to watch and meet their 2009-10 Bakersfield Condors will be held at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center (1325 Q Street) from 2 - 5 p.m. Fans are invited to watch the team practice and then join the players on the ice for a free public skate. Bring your own skates, or skate rentals are available for $3. The annual event is open to the public, and free for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items. All the food collected will be donated to the Kern County Food Bank. Ticket plan holders and Kids Club members, who are current with payments, can pick up their ticket packages and season ticket holder gifts at Open House.
