Moss became the second pitcher in all of Minor League Baseball, and first in the FSL, to reach 13 victories in 2018.

After being held off the scoreboard Thursday night, Daytona got on the board in the top of the first on Friday. Randy Ventura drew a walk to start the game and moved to second on a Brantley Bell single. Both runners moved up an extra 90-feet thanks to an error on the St. Lucie left fielder Dale Burdick. Ventura came into score from third three pitches later on a Bruce Yari ground-out. Bell moved to third on the play, then came into score the second run on a throwing error from catcher Ali Sanchez.

Daytona went up 3-0 in the second. Malik Collymore led off with a single, moved to second on a groundout, stole third, then with two outs scored on a Ventura single.

St. Lucie got on the scoreboard for the first time in the third. Quinn Brodey led off with a double off Moss, moved to third on an air out, then scored on a Luis Carpio groundout to make it 3-1.

After Moss went eight, RHP Ryan Hendrix came on to pitch the ninth. The Mets loaded up the bases on a Bell error and a pair of singles without an out being recorded. Hendrix then buckled down by striking out Dan Rizzie and getting Brodey to fly out to left. But with two away, Hendrix sailed a pitch to the back-stop, allowing a run to score from third to cut the deficit to 3-2. A few pitches later, Hendrix got Dale Burdick to fly out to left to end the game.

LHP Anthony Kay (2-4) takes the loss after allowing three runs on five hits in five innings with four walks and six strikeouts. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 6:30 PM, with coverage beginning at 6:15 PM with The Metcare Pregame Show on AM 1230, AM 1490, and FM 106.9 WSBB.
