
Scorpions assigned Uchevatov from Milwaukee

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]- The New Mexico Scorpions, proud member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), have been assigned Victor Uchevatov from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League (AHL). Uchevatov has been signed to a five game contract and will be in the lineup tonight against Lubbock.
Uchevatov started the season with the Admirals but has not appeared in a game. The 23-year-old defenseman if a former second round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators.
After being drafted, Uchevatov spent his two and a half seasons with the Albany River Rats (AHL). In 2003 he was traded to the San Antonio Rampage, and also played the entire 2004-05 season with the Rampage. Last season he spent a short time with Rochester in the AHL before playing for the Cherepovets Severstal in the Russian League.
"We are excited to get Victor from Milwaukee," said Head Coach Edwards. "This is a kid who needs to play and show what he can do; we plan to give him that chance with the Scorpions this weekend."
Overall, the 6'4", 226 pounder has appeared in 257 professional games scoring 16 points (4G, 12 A) and collecting 196 penalty minutes.
Scorpions start a busy three-games-in-three-nights stretch tonight at the Santa Ana Star Center at 7:35 PM. Friday night New Mexico travels to face Colorado at 7:05 PM before returning to play the Eagles at the Santa Ana Star Center. Please note the Saturday puck drop time of 7:05 PM.
