Schioler, Affiliates Named to NHL CSS "Players to Watch" List

Lincoln, Neb. - Stars defenseman Liam Schioler and three affiliates were named to the NHL CSS "Players to Watch" list, the National Hockey League announced on Tuesday.

Stars affiliates Adam Karashik, Carter Long and Tommy Nappier joined Schioler on the list - marking the second time these players have been recognized by NHL Central Scouting this season.

NHL CSS gave Schioler and the three affiliates C Ratings, indicating they're likely to be selected between the 4th to 6th rounds of the NHL Entry Draft. Each player was born in 1998 and is eligible for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.

Schioler, 6'3" 200 lbs., has three assists and 21 penalty minutes in 17 games played this season. The uncommitted defenseman is playing his first season in the USHL.

Nappier has posted a 2.38 GAA and .922 save percentage in 10 games for the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League this season.

Karashik, 5'11" 174 lbs., will join Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut this season. The defenseman earned 12 points in 19 games for the Connecticut Whalers of the EJEPL last season.

Long will play for the Selects Hockey Academy in the U18 United States Premier Hockey League. Long is a 6'4" 209 pound defenseman who had 22 points in 28 games with the U16 team last season.

The Stars are back in action Wednesday, Nov. 25 to face the Tri-City Storm in Kearney, Neb. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
