
Sawchyn Signs Entry Level Deal with Panthers

On November 4, the Florida Panthers announced that they have signed 2023 draftee, and Oil Kings Assistant Captain Gracyn Sawchyn to his three-year Entry Level Contract.
Sawchyn was originally a second-round pick, 63rd overall in the 2023 NHL Draft and has since attended two Panthers Training Camps in the NHL.
In 12 games this season with the Oil Kings, Sawchyn has 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists), which lead the team in all three categories. His seven powerplay assists also sit tied for fifth in the WHL.
Last season, Sawchyn was acquired by the Oil Kings in a late December trade with Seattle and put up 43 points (13 goals, 30 assists) in 37 games. Prior to his time in Edmonton, Sawchyn was over a point-per-game with the Thunderbirds with 79 points in 75 games played. He also helped the Thunderbirds to a WHL Championship in 2023.
Sawchyn was the first overall selection in the 2022 WHL U.S. Prospects Draft by Seattle.
