Cougars Lose Third Period Lead and Fall 5-4 to Blades in OT

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars saw a two-goal third-period lead evaporate as the Saskatoon Blades scored three unanswered goals to defeat Prince George 5-4 in overtime, Tuesday at the CN Centre.
Koehn Ziemmer scored twice for Prince George in the loss, while Terik Parascak and Borya Valis also supplied goals. Riley Heidt owned another multi-point night, collecting three assists.
GOALS:
1st PERIOD:
1-0 Blades at 3:43 - Ben Riche (10) assisted by Brandon Lisowsky and Tyler Parr // The Blades jumped to an early lead as Ben Riche carried the puck to the left wing circle and rifled a wrist on the far side of Josh Ravensbergen to make it 1-0 Saskatoon.
1-1 at 14:50 - Koehn Ziemmer (11) (PP) assisted by Riley Heidt and Viliam Kmec // The Cats found the equalizer just 20 seconds into their power-play. It was a gorgeous set up from Viliam Kmec who then spotted Riley Heidt who then found Koehn Ziemmer on the back door at the right circle to knot the game at one.
2nd PERIOD:
2-1 Cougars at 1:57 - Koehn Ziemmer (12) assisted by Leith Hunter // The Cats took their first lead of the game as a shot from Koehn Ziemmer at a bad angle, along the goal line, somehow snuck its way through the legs of Gardner and into the net to make the game 2-1 Cougars.
3-1 Cougars at 9:10 - Terik Parascak (10) assisted by Riley Heidt // The Cats added to their lead as Riley Heidt made a tremendous play, dragging around a Blade at the blue-line and then spotted Terik Parascak who fired home his tenth tally of the season to give PG a 3-1 lead.
3-2 Cougars at 10:41 - Tyler Parr (7) (PP) assisted by Tanner Molendyk and Ben Riche // Saskatoon cut into the Cougar lead on a power-play of their own as a Tyler Parr wrist shot made its way through a ton of traffic and by Ravensbergen to make the game 3-2.
3rd PERIOD:
4-2 Cougars at 7:12 - Borya Valis (8) (PP) assisted by Viliam Kmec and Riley Heidt // Prince George tallied once again on the man advantage as a shot from Borya Valis at the right circle went right through the legs of Evan Gardner to re-store the Cougars' two-goal lead.
4-3 Cougars at 8:55 - Brandon Lisowsky (7) assisted by Tyler Parr and Brayden Klimpke // The Blades cut back into the lead as Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Brandon Lisowsky created some space in the offensive and snuck a shot from the left circle on the short-side of Ravensbergen to make it 4-3.
4-4 at 9:14 - Lukas Hansen (1) assisted by Rowan Calvert and Tanner Molendyk // The Blades scored once again seconds later and it was courtesy of a Lukas Hansen shot from inside the blue-line and that solved Ravensbergen on the glove side to knot the game at four.
OVERTIME:
5-4 Blades at 2:00 - Brandon Lisowsky (8) // Brandon Lisowsky carried the puck from his own zone and drove all the way into the offensive zone, got in behind the defence and slid home his second of the night by Josh Ravensbergen to give the Blades a come from behind victory in Prince George.
