Crampton, Catton Tally Four Points Each in Topsy-Turvy 6-5 Win over Rockets

The first period was an even, up-and-down affair with neither team finding a breakthrough.

The second frame opened with a bang as Brayden Crampton scored his very first goal of the season. Shea Van Olm was credited with the lone assist as Spokane got on the board at 1:09.

Just 21 seconds later Smyth Rebman scored his sixth of the season. He crashed the net and slapped a loose puck on net before it trickled in. Owen Martin and Brayden Crampton with the assists.

Kelowna fought back with a pair of goals scored by Max Graham at 7:20 and Kayden Longley at 10:21. After no goals through first 20 minutes, it was tied at 2-2 halfway through the second.

Crampton was not done yet, with another goal at the 11:59 mark. This time Berkly Catton and Hayden Paupanekis provided the assists as the defenseman scored his second of the season, on the power play.

Chiefs' captain Berkly Catton added a fourth goal of the period at 16:19, also on the power play. He carried the puck towards the net through the faceoff circle before firing it so hard that it bounced back out of the net before anyone could react. With an assist on the goal, Brayden Crampton tallied his fourth point of the period.

Andrew Cristall scored his first goal of the game for the Rockets at 5:30 of the third, giving him three points in the game.

Just over a minute later it was another first goal of the season scored by a Chiefs' defenseman. An excellent cross ice pass from Rasmus Ekström found the St. Louis Blues prospect, Will McIsaac, in acres of space before he fired it home for his ninth career goal.

The back and forth continued with Marek Rocak scoring his first of the season for Kelowna at 12:19, bringing the Rockets within one.

With exactly a minute to play, Chiefs' leading scorer Shea Van Olm found the empty net to give the Chiefs a small cushion.

Cristall scored his second with ten seconds remaining, but it was little consolation as Spokane held on to win 6-5.

The Chiefs were 2/4 on the power play, 100% on the penalty kill and recorded 27 shots to just 19 for Kelowna. Brayden Crampton's four points (2G, 2A) on Tuesday night marked a new career high for a single game and gives him 15 points on the season with six in the last three games. Berkly Catton also finished the game with four points (1G, 3A) while Van Olm (1G, 1A) and Ekström (2A) each had two points.

Up next Spokane will travel to Kamloops to face the Blazers on Friday night before playing the Kelowna Rockets again on Saturday.

The Chief's will return to the arena on Friday, November 15th for Fred Meyer Shop With The Chiefs Night and Saturday, November 16th for Coca-Cola Family Feast Night.
