Santa Cruz Warriors News Release

SANTA CRUZ, CA - Santa Cruz Warriors guard Darius Morris has been named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, November 12 to Sunday, November 18, the league announced today.

In three games last week (all starts), Morris averaged 23.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists to lead Santa Cruz to the league's only 3-0 record last week. Morris shot 46.3% from the field (25-of-54 FG) and 52.9% from behind the arc (9-of-17 3FG) in wins over the Northern Arizona Suns (twice) and the South Bay Lakers.

In seven games (four starts) this season, Morris is averaging 20.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists for the 7-0 Santa Cruz Warriors, who currently own the third best start in NBA G League history.

This is the first NBA G League Player of the Week award for Morris, who as a member of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers won the NBA G League Player of the Month Award for games played in February 2017. Morris was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors in a draft day trade on October 20, 2018.

Morris is the fifth player in Santa Cruz Warriors franchise history to earn NBA G League Player of the Week, joining Joe Alexander (award won December 1, 2014), Ronald Roberts (January 26, 2015), Elliot Williams (December 21, 2015; January 25, 2016), Phil Pressey (March 13, 2017) and Jabari Brown (March 27, 2017).

The Warriors will host the Salt Lake City Stars on Friday, November 23 (tip-off 7:00 PST on NBC Sports Bay Area Plus). The first 1,500 fans to arrive at Kaiser Permanente Arena will receive a Limited Edition Kevin Durant Bobblehead.
