Sanders Receives Week 10 AFL Honors

SPOKANE, WA (May 15th, 2012) - The Spokane Shock's defensive back and kick return specialist, Terrance Sanders, was named the Week 10 Riddell Defensive Player of the Week and JLS Ironman after his career best performance last week against the New Orleans Voodoo.

In Week 10, Sanders recorded five kick returns for a total of 153 yards, two of which he took back for touchdowns against the Voodoo. Defensively, Terrance tallied 8 solo tackles and one assisted tackle, 2 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions.

Through Week 10 of the AFL regular season, Terrance has a total of 42 kick returns for 1,037 yards and three touchdowns, leading the league with an average of 24.1 yards per return. Terrance has recorded ten career kick returns for touchdowns, placing him ahead of AFL Hall of Famers Eddie Brown and Barry Wagner. He will receive a watch crafted by JLS for his efforts in Week 10.Defensively, Terrance leads the league with a total of 68 tackles (62 solo, 12 assisted) as he averages 8.5 tackles per game. He has also racked up 5 interceptions on the season along with 10 pass breakups. After his last games addition to his season totals, Terrance is one interception shy of tying the single-season franchise record and closing in on the single season tackle record held by Alex Teems.
