Utah Blaze News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah WR Shaun Kauleinamoku has already developed an uncanny rapport with QB Tommy Grady despite playing in only two games with the Blaze. Today he is reaping the rewards, as Kauleinamoku was named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of Week 10.
Kauleinamoku (5-10, 185, Western Oregon) was downright unstoppable last Friday against the San Jose SaberCats. He led a group of receivers that combined to put nine touchdowns on the board. Kauleinamoku finished the night posting game-highs with 13 receptions for 211 yards and five touchdowns.
"I'm honored to receive the award. Hard work really pays off," said Kauleinamoku. "Tommy and I have worked on our timing a lot, and Coach Sauk just calls the right plays to put us in position to have success. I'm excited to see what the future brings as I continue to gain more experience in this offense."
With just two games under his belt, Kauleinamoku already ranks fourth among Blaze receivers with 19 receptions for 267 yards and nine scores. He caught six passes for 56 yards and four touchdowns a week ago against the Spokane Shock, helping the offense set a franchise-record for scoring in an 84-64 victory.
