Sanchez Strikes Out 8 in Rain-Shortened Loss

The Senators took a 1-0 lead for the second straight game in the first inning but couldn't hold it and dropped a 3-1 decision to Bowie in a rain-shortened game Saturday night in Bowie. The Senators turned two singles, an error and a sac fly into a run in the first inning, but Bowie scored a pair on a two-run HR to take a 2-1 lead. The loss was the Sens fourth straight.

Harrisburg (47-40, 5-12); Bowie (44-42, 14-4)

On Capitol Hill

- Mario Sanchez took the loss but pitched well in his 4.1 innings. He struck out eight and walked just one batter.

With the Gavel

- The Sens had just three hits including a double by Hunter Jones.

Filibusters

The Sens have dropped four straight games.

Their longest losing streak of the season is five games.

Harrisburg was last swept in a four-game series on the road May 2018 at Trenton.
