SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants return home to kick off a six-game homestand Saturday, August 21st at 6:00 PM. The weekend begins with back-to-back cultural celebrations, starting with Italian Night, presented by Sons of Sicily, on Friday and followed by Japanese Heritage Night during Saturday's contest. There are a number of special ticket promotions and Merchant Nights on the schedule and the homestand will conclude with another Chevys Post Game Meet and Greet.
Promotions and Special Events:
Sons of Sicily Italian Night: The San Jose Giants have partnered with the Sons of Sicily for the third annual Italian Night on Saturday, August 21st. The entire night will be a celebration of Italian culture with raffles, Italian music and food, vendor booths and giveaways. There will be a silent auction for the special Italian themed, game worn, player jerseys and many fun activities for the whole family. In addition, the first 1,000 Italian Night fans in attendance will receive dry-fit t-shirts, sponsored by Country Club Villa Properties & Battaglia Ranch Tree Farm.
Mix 106.5 Saturday in the Park: On Saturday, August 21st, the San Jose Giants and Mix 106.5 will team up to present fans with Mix 106.5 Saturday in the Park. Fans can download their Mix Family Four Packs online at www.kezr.com and www.sjgiants.com and present them at the San Jose Giants Box Office to receive four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for just $33.
Martinelli's Kids Run the Bases: Following the conclusion of every Saturday and Sunday San Jose Giants game, kids are invited down onto the field to run the bases, courtesy of Martinelli's Apple Juice.
Japanese Heritage Night: The San Jose Giants will celebrate the Japanese culture Sunday, August 22nd at 5:00 PM when they host Japanese Heritage Night at Municipal Stadium. The evening will be full of Japanese festivities ranging from origami and Japanese calligraphy booths to Japanese decorations and sushi stands. Some of your favorite in-game promotions will take on a Japanese twist as contestants will wear festive Japanese clothing. Get there early to experience the culture and listen to the San Jose Taiko performing before the game. One lucky fan will win a trip for two on American Airlines, courtesy of I.A.C.E. 94.5 KBAY's Giant Sunday: New in 2010 is the 94.5 KBAY's Giant Sunday. Fans can download their Family Four Pack or Buy One Get One Free ticket coupons online at www.kbay.com and present them at the San Jose Giants Box Office. Be sure to stop by the KBAY booth and enter to win great prizes.
Alliance Credit Union Kids Eat Free: Every Sunday home game is Alliance Credit Union Kids Eat Free Sunday. Fans can cut out the Kids Eat Free coupon from the Mercury News and redeem it at the San Jose Giants Box Office. For every youth ticket purchased fans will receive a free hot dog and soda. Fans must present the coupon at the time of purchase. The offer allows for only one ticket per coupon.
State Farm Night: The fifth State Farm Night of the season is Monday, August 23rd. Fans can visit local State Farm agencies to receive complimentary tickets to Monday's San Jose Giants game.
KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets: Tuesday, August 24th, bring a KRAFT Singles package wrapper to the Municipal Stadium Box Office for a steal of a deal. Buy one ticket and get one free from KRAFT Singles! Only the wrapper is required.
Merchant Night: Tuesday, August 24th will be another Merchant Night. Be on the lookout at local businesses and stores for complimentary tickets to Thursday's game against Visalia.
OSH Merchant Night: The Merchant Night festivities continue Wednesday, August 25th and Thursday, August 26th with the return of Orchard Supply Hardware Merchant Night. Fans can pick up free admission tickets at participating OSH stores one week prior to selected dates. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, while quantities last. General Admission tickets are NOT assigned seating. They are on a first come first serve basis in the stadium grandstand and bleachers.
Throughout the season, single game tickets will be available at the Box Office and over the phone at (408) 297-1435 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tickets are also available online at www.sjgiants.com.
On the Airwaves:
Comcast Coverage: The San Jose Giants and Comcast have joined forces to bring fans 14 LIVE television broadcasts during the 2009 season. The games can be viewed live on Comcast Hometown Network Digital Channel 104 throughout most Northern California regions. It's a busy television schedule once again as both Tuesday and Wednesday's games against Visalia will be broadcast LIVE on Comcast Hometown Network with Joe Ritzo calling all the action.
The LIVE games will be replayed several times on Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104), and will also be available any time of the day or night via Comcast's popular ON DEMAND platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers. To view California League baseball games ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Cable customers can tune to Channel 1 on their Digital Cable lineup or press the ON DEMAND button on their remote control, then click on the "Get Local" section, then click on "Local Sports."
