Lancaster JetHawks News Release
(STOCKTON, CA) - The Stockton Ports are continuing to show why they have racked up 12 consecutive wins. A trio of Ports hurlers combined to limit JetHawks batters to just five hits as Stockton won their third straight against the JetHawks, this time 6-2 Thursday night at Banner Island Ballpark. Lancaster has scored only three runs with 12 hits in the series thus far. The JetHawks fall into fourth place in the second half race, three games behind Lake Elsinore.
The Ports scored twice in the first inning and never trailed. After a shaky first frame, Lancaster starter Ross Seaton allowed just one more run over the next five innings for a quality start. He fell just one strikeout short of his career high with seven.
The JetHawks offense didn't get on the scoreboard until the seventh inning. Brian Pellegrini and Jordan Comadena both singled. Mark Ori lined a ball into right field for a single of his own, driving in both runs and getting the JetHawks to within one.
However, Lancaster was unable to score the rest of the way and the Ports plated three more runs in their half of the seventh to reassert command.
The JetHawks will try to avoid the sweep in Stockton Friday night. Edwin Walker (0-0) will pitch for Lancaster against the Ports' Justin Murray (9-4). The game begins at 7:10 and will be broadcast live online at JetHawks.com/CSN and on radio at NewsTalk 1380. The Pre-Game Show begins at 7:05.
