September 24, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
San Antonio FC News Release

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC (10-11-8) will travel to face Tulsa Roughnecks FC (6-14-9) at ONEOK Field on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. CT. The match marks the ninth contest between the two clubs overall as SAFC continues its push for the playoffs.

SAFC heads into the match after earning an important point on the road at LA Galaxy II last Friday with a 1-1 draw. The Alamo City club will look to earn three points against the Roughnecks, who sit in 16th place in the Western Conference standings and are fighting to keep their playoff chances alive.

The Alamo City club is 5-1-2 all-time against Tulsa, most recently playing them to a 1-1 draw at Toyota Field on May 18. SAFC has fallen to the Roughnecks just once in eight regular season contests between the two teams, which happened on Sept. 15, 2018. San Antonio also added a win against Tulsa in the club's first-ever USL Championship Playoffs win in 2017.

The Roughnecks will look to earn three points at home after falling to Orange County SC 0-1 last Saturday, snapping a four-game unbeaten streak for the club. San Antonio will also face familiar foes in defender Cyprian Hedrick and forward AJ Ajeakwa. Hedrick spent the 2017-18 seasons with the Alamo City club, scoring one goal in 36 appearances while Ajeakwa scored three goals in 15 appearances with the club during the 2017 campaign.

The match marks the second in the span of just nine days for SAFC. The Alamo City club will face yet another quick turnaround following the match on Wednesday as they head back home to host second-place Fresno FC at Toyota Field on Saturday, Sept. 28 during Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Toyota.
