San Antonio Rampage News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The San Antonio Rampage (27-22-8-0) rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Ontario Reign (27-19-3-1) on Wednesday at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
Ontario got out to an early lead when Philippe Maillet forced a turnover at the Rampage blueline and beat netminder Ville Husso with a wrister from the slot 17 seconds into the opening period.
The Reign extended their lead to two at 5:09 of the middle stanza after Jonny Brodzinski's shot attempt deflected out to Maillet, who fired the puck into the net for his second of the game. J.C. Beaudin started the Rampage rally at the 14:53 mark after Jesse Graham found the forward open on the back side of the play for his second of the season.
The Rampage notched the game at two at 12:26 of the final period when Andrew Agozzino collected a rebounding puck at the left point and went top shelf on Petersen for his team-leading seventh power-play goal of the season. The remainder of the period went scoreless as the contest was forced into overtime.
T.J. Hensick landed the game-winning goal mid-way through the extra period after finishing a backdoor pass from Justin Auger at 2:38, leading the Reign to a 3-2 victory.
