Johnsson Named CCM/AHL Player of the Month

The American Hockey League announced today that Toronto Marlies forward Andreas Johnsson has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for February.

Johnsson has recorded 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) since February 2, registering a point in 10 out of his 11 games played this month. On Wednesday, he registered his 50th and 51st point in his 50th game with two assists in Toronto's 4-3 overtime loss to Syracuse. The Marlies are 28-4-1-0 when Johnsson records a point. He is second overall in the AHL with 51 points (23 goals, 28 assists) and leads the Marlies in goals and assists.

The Toronto Marlies are the primary development program for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The current Toronto Maple Leafs roster features 12 players who were developed by the Marlies (Tyler Bozak, Connor Brown, Connor Carrick, Travis Dermott, Jake Gardiner, Zach Hyman, Nazem Kadri, Kasperi Kapanen, Leo Komarov, Josh Leivo, William Nylander and Morgan Rielly).

The Toronto Marlies face off against Rochester this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET at Ricoh Coliseum and head to Belleville on Sunday to play the Senators at 3:00 p.m. ET.
