Salt Lake Bees News Release

Four Salt Lake pitchers combined to throw a three hitter, as the Bees blanked the Omaha Storm Chasers 6-0 on Sunday night.

Starter Ivan Pineyro (5-7) worked the first six innings and allowed just three hits with six strikeouts and no walks to earn the victory. Jeremy Rhoades, Eduardo Paredes and Akeel Morris each tossed a scoreless inning to complete Salt Lake's second shutout of the road trip and the fourth of the season, as they recorded their fourth consecutive win.

The Bees broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning, as Stephen McGee drew a two out walk, took third on a double by Bo Way and both came in to score on a double down the right field line by Matt Thaiss. Taylor Ward followed with an RBI single to extend Salt Lake's lead to 3-0. The Bees added one run in the seventh on a run scoring single by Jabari Blash and picked up two more runs in the ninth on RBI singles by Jared Walsh and Luis Rengifo. Blash led Salt Lake's thirteen hit attack, as he went 4 for 4 with one run batted in, while Way added three hits, including two doubles.
