The Salt Lake Bees opened their series at Omaha with a 4-3 win over the Storm Chasers on Saturday night

The game was scoreless through four innings, but the Bees broke through in the fifth, as Joe Hudson walked and Alberto Triunfel singled to open the inning. Both runners moved up on a fly out to left by Luis Rengifo and they both scored on a line drive single to right field by Matt Thaiss. Omaha got one of those runs back in the bottom of the fifth on a home run by Luis Villegas, but Salt Lake answered with two runs in the eighth on an RBI single by Jared Walsh and a wild pitch.

Omaha scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth on a pair of wild pitches from Williams Jerez to close to within one, but Jerez worked a three up, three down ninth to record his first save with the Bees. Salt Lake starter Luis Pena (4-3) earned the victory, as he went five and one-third innings and allowed just one run four hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Walsh had two hits and extended his hitting streak to five games and drove in one run to give him an RBI in three straight games. Triunfel also had a pair of singles, as the Bees win their third consecutive game.
