The teams went back-and-forth in the third as Iowa took a three-point lead into the final period after Giorgi Bezhanishvili beat the end of the third-quarter buzzer with a contested banked three-pointer.
The teams traded baskets in the fourth before Salt Lake broke the final tie with a three by Hendricks and a one-for-three free throw by Johnny Juzang. Iowa was unable to get the necessary stops in a row as Salt Lake held on for the win.
The teams face off again Monday afternoon in a 12 p.m. matinee.
